Murray and Quaife Take Lola B12 to Brands Hatch Victory
Kenny Murray and Phil Quaife claimed Masters Endurance Legends 1 honours at Brands Hatch after a dramatic 40-minute race interrupted by two Safety Car periods. The Lola B12 pairing controlled much of the contest and ultimately finished second overall in the combined field, securing a comfortable class victory while also setting the fastest lap of the race with a 1m22.341s.
The race was twice neutralised, first after James Hagan and Christopher Atkinson’s Pilbeam MP91 became stranded in the gravel and later when the MEL 2 Ligier LMP3 of Andy Perry and Ben Clucas stopped on circuit. Both interruptions compressed the field and created a tense sprint to the finish.
Zak Brown and Richard Dean finished second in Masters Endurance Legends 1 aboard their Ferrari F430 GTC. Running strongly throughout, the Ferrari completed 22 laps to secure GT2 honours and seventh overall in the combined classification.
James Hagan and Christopher Atkinson completed the Masters Endurance Legends 1 podium in the Pilbeam MP91, recovering from early delays after a gravel excursion to secure third place in the category.

Zak Brown and Richard Dean secured victory aboard their Ferrari F430 GTC in the second Masters Endurance Legends race at Brands Hatch, finishing third overall in the combined field and claiming top honours among the MEL 1 contenders.
The race began under a yellow-start procedure and was briefly interrupted by an early Safety Car period on the opening lap. Once racing resumed, Brown and Dean settled into a strong rhythm, steadily climbing the overall order while maintaining a comfortable advantage within their category.
The Ferrari crew combined consistent pace with a clean pit stop to remain firmly in contention throughout the 40-minute contest. Dean produced the car’s fastest lap of 1m30.607s during the closing stages as the pair consolidated their position among the leading GT runners.
James Hagan and Christopher Atkinson completed the MEL 1 classification in their Pilbeam MP91. Despite losing significant time during the race, the pair recovered to reach the finish and secure second place in category.
Brown and Dean’s victory capped a successful weekend at Brands Hatch, with the Ferrari pairing combining reliability, consistency and speed to finish as the leading MEL 1 entry.
