Monza Revival 2026: Masters Demo Legends

The Masters Demo Legends programme delivered a spectacular trip through Formula 1 history during the Monza Revival, with a diverse collection of Grand Prix machinery from the late 1970s to the early 1990s returning to one of the sport’s most iconic circuits. Seven cars representing five different constructors took to the high-speed Italian venue across two demonstration sessions, giving spectators a rare opportunity to experience these legendary machines at speed once again.

The field featured an eclectic mix of Formula 1 history, from Marc Sydow’s 1979 Shadow DN9B and Oliver Chapman’s 1977 March 761 through to Jonathan Constable’s 1993 Tyrrell 021. Also represented were two examples of the Tyrrell 011 driven by Tom Bradshaw and Charlie Webb, Mark Hazell’s Williams FW08C, and Olivier Huez’s 1989 Rial ARC2.

Saturday’s demonstration belonged to Tom Bradshaw, whose 1983 Tyrrell 011 was the benchmark throughout the session. Bradshaw completed ten laps and posted the fastest time of the weekend with a 1:41.935 on his seventh lap, finishing comfortably ahead of Charlie Webb’s sister Tyrrell and Mark Hazell’s Williams FW08C. Marc Sydow brought the distinctive Shadow DN9B home fourth, ahead of Oliver Chapman’s March 761, while Jonathan Constable completed a valuable run in the newer Tyrrell 021. Olivier Huez also enjoyed laps in the rare Rial ARC2, adding another unique Formula 1 car to the weekend’s impressive display.

Sunday’s second demonstration saw Charlie Webb take centre stage. The Briton guided his Tyrrell 011 to the quickest time of the session with a best lap of 2:02.277, leading Olivier Huez’s Rial ARC2 as the pair enjoyed uninterrupted running around the Temple of Speed. The remaining cars continued their demonstration programme, allowing drivers and spectators alike to enjoy another appearance of these historic Formula 1 machines in front of the Monza crowd.

While no competitive racing took place, the Demo Legends sessions once again highlighted the rich heritage of Formula 1. From the ground-effect era of the late 1970s and early 1980s to the increasingly sophisticated cars of the early 1990s, the demonstrations provided an evocative reminder of the engineering, sound and spectacle that defined some of the sport’s most memorable generations.
