Historic GP Zandvoort 2026: Masters Sports Car Legends

Olivier Hart delivered a commanding performance to win the opening Masters Sports Car Legends race at Zandvoort, guiding his Ferrari 512M to victory after a largely controlled display at the front of the field.

Hart quickly established himself as the benchmark runner and remained unchallenged throughout the 40-minute contest. Behind him, Michael Gans secured second place in the Lola T70 MK3B, while John Spiers and Nigel Greensall completed the podium after another strong performance in their McLaren M1B.

Chris Collins and Paul Stretton brought their Lola T290 home fourth, with Ingo Strolz completing the top five in the Lola T210. Further down the order, the midfield battle remained closely contested as teams worked through the mandatory pit-stop phase.

The race ran without major interruptions, although Hans Leerdam’s Porsche 3.0 RSR stopped at the chicane in the closing stages, bringing an early end to his race. Despite that setback, the field enjoyed a largely uninterrupted run around the Zandvoort circuit.

At the front, however, the result was never seriously in doubt. Hart combined pace and consistency throughout the race to secure a convincing victory and open his Masters Sports Car Legends campaign in ideal fashion.

Olivier Hart completed a dominant weekend for Ferrari in Masters Sports Car Legends at Zandvoort, taking victory in Race 2 after controlling the pace throughout the 40-minute contest. Driving the Ferrari 512M, Hart pulled clear of the chasing pack and crossed the line over five seconds ahead of Michael Gans’ Lola T70 MK3B.

The battle for the remaining podium positions remained closely contested, with Nigel Greensall and John Spiers securing third overall in their McLaren M1B. Collins and Stretton followed closely behind in fourth aboard the Lola T290 after remaining firmly in contention throughout the race.

A mandatory pit stop phase unfolded without major drama before a late Safety Car intervention briefly neutralised proceedings, bunching the field together for the closing laps. Racing resumed shortly before the finish, leaving little time for challengers to mount an attack on Hart’s advantage.

Behind the overall podium, Nicky Pastorelli brought his Ferrari 365 GTB/4 home fifth, narrowly ahead of Ingo Strolz’s Lola T210, while Hans Leerdam and the Cooper Monaco King Cobra of Keith Ahlers and James Billy Bellinger completed the classified finishers. Olivier Huez was the sole retirement after completing eleven laps in the Ginetta G16.
